Lana Stojićević's solo exhibition Project Villa Roza is based on the problematic of laymen, often illegal housing development significant for Dalmatia’s last twenty years. Through multimedia and interdisciplinary artistic strategy typical of the artist, Lana establishes symbolical connection between phenomenon of local chaotic construction, practising conventional marriage rites and strictly defined gender roles apparent in the process of designing and building the house, itself considered to be the basic topos of the traditional social hierarchy. The photographs, sketches and maquettes of Project Villa Rosa, including photographs documenting representative examples of illegal housing development, simultaneously mimic scientific method and aesthetics of the illegal housing development. During the last few years Lana Stojčević's in-depth approach to the subject of her art practice has been recognised with several awards that established her as one of the best amongst the newest generation of Croatian artists.
