The Contemporary Art Collection includes artworks in different types of media, mostly produced by Croatian artists after 1950, including Ljubo Ivančić, Edo Murtić, Krsto Hegedušić, Branko Ružić, Frano Šimunović, Ksenija Kantoci, Marija Ujević Galetović, Šime Perić, Ferdinand Kulmer, Zlatko Prica, Nives Kavurić Kurtović, Ivo Dulčić, Ivan Kožarić, Đuro Seder, and others.

The evolution of artistic tendencies in this period, from the constructivist-geometrical and kinetic to the primary-analytical ones, can be reconstructed on the basis of works by Ivan Picelj, Vjenceslav Richter, Juraj Dobrović, Julije Knifer, Miroslav Šutej, Boris Demur, Dean Jokanović Toumin, Ante Rašić, Damir Sokić, Goran Trbuljak, and others.

A number of key protagonists of Croatian contemporary art, such as Mladen Stilinović, Goran Petercol, Ivan Faktor, Dalibor Martinis, Boris Bućan, Nina Ivančić, Lovro Artuković, Dubravka Rakoci, and Edita Schubert, are represented with some of their seminal works.

The contribution of Split to the richness and diversity of artistic manifestations is evident in artworks by Ante Kaštelančić, Gorki Žuvela, Kuzma Kovačić, Kažimir Hraste, Vasko Lipovac, Alieta Monas Pleić, Matko Trebotića, and Zlatan Dumanić.

Our programmatic emphasis on recent art practices has also resulted in the acquisitions of works by artists of the younger generation, such as Viktor Popović, Alen Floričić, Igor Eškinja, Siniša Majkus, Alem Korkut, Renata Poljak, Vlasta Žanić, Ana Opalić, Siniša Labrović, Vedran Perkov, Igor Grubić, Zlatko Kopljar, Loren Živković Kuljiš, and others.
